L’Occitane enters the field of gourmet fragrances with the launch of the new Terre de Lumiere Eau de Parfum.
With aromas of honey, lavender and almonds originating from the south of France, the fragrance is inspired by Provence’s golden hour, a special time of day to see the beautiful and rich colors of fleeting sunsets.
Packaged in a flat, disc-shaped glass bottle with a soft golden hue. The asymmetrical jewel-like cap reminds me of a translucent piece of amber. The bottle screams summer and coastline holidays to me, which is perfect for the Provence sunset theme.
In the initial spray, my nose picks up lots of pepper and lemon bergamot, giving it a spicy almost herbal life, but it melts quickly into a soft and creamy French lavender A mixture of flowers and sweet honey. I don’t believe I’ve ever smelled this particular combination of flower and food before, but it was delicious. Not long after, a sprinkle of almonds and tonka beans added an earthy and vanilla-like nutty note to the mix, and rounded out the formula with base notes of acacia flower and white musk.
